Quite simply it has everything. The sea, mountains, stunning scenery, delightful unspoilt villages, delicious wine and the all important climate. With 300 days of sunshine a year this is the sunniest ( and healthiest ) corner of France. You can be sunbathing in the garden one day and putting on your snow chains to head into the mountains the next.

yourplaceinFrance.co.uk was founded early in 2005 two years after Tony Mole moved to France. Aged 53, Tony had previously spent 30 years in the design industry working for leading design consultancies in London and Manchester before running his own successful consultancy for 16 years.

A keen skier, rower, ex rugby player (Sale and Preston Grasshoppers) and wine lover it is easy to understand why Tony chose this beautiful part of France to live and set up business. He lives and works from home, a beautiful old stone bergerie he restored himself, surrounded by vineyards near Durban, in the Corbieres hills with his Jack Russell, Betise.

Since moving to France Tony has studied French at the University of Perpignan, worked in a local winery selling the local Fitou wine and carrying out tastings for French visitors (no mean feat ! ) renovated two houses including one with no water or electricity (but which is now completely self sufficient with a well, solar panels and wind turbine! ) Tony is a member of Narbonne Rowing Club and last year took part in the French Indoor Rowing National Championships in Paris.

He has done the wine harvest and been wild boar hunting but stops short of donning a beret (I can't find one big enough).
